Background

Angela was raised by her mother and stepfather. They frequently moved throughout British Columbia and Alberta during her childhood. It is believed Angela started using drugs while she was attending high school in Trail, British Columbia. She did not return to school when her family relocated to Surrey, British Columbia; she became a victim of child sexual exploitation in nearby Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Before Angela’s disappearance, she had spent the past six months living with her common law spouse, who helped her get off the streets. She was allegedly being harassed by a former pimp who wanted to exploit her again. Angela was also getting money from welfare and was accepted into school. She was in good spirits and was not a chronic runaway.

Disappearance

Angela, her spouse, and a male friend spent the day shopping. After dinner, she was last seen boarding a bus by herself to return home. Angela was gone when her spouse arrived at their apartment but her purse, shopping bags, identification, and $200 in rent money were left behind. The apartment lights were on and a window was open.

Margaret Kennedy and Pat Arseneault, Angela’s mother and grandmother, believe Angela is deceased.
